Open Mic Night!

Last weekend was Open Mic Night. It was great fun! This is my roommate Laurie. Not only was she the MC, but she also put on a great act as she showcased a poem that she wrote for her creative writing tutorial from the semester. It is all about the iPod and the phenomenon of everyone around here being plugged in as they walk the streets of Oxford. Laurie lives with me in room 4 of the Vines. She goes to Covenant College in Grand Rapids. She also lives in the Grand Rapids area, so that means we may be able to see one another once the term is over in England. Little did I know that she was also on the same plane with me on my way here! She has been a great friend and encouragement for me and we enjoy spending time together.
Twenty-five minutes before open mic started, John and I got a script that we decided (or rather I asked and he said yes) that we performed. We had a blast! It was a classic skit dealing with the communication gap between men and women....let's just say there was much laughter as everyone could relate!! We had a great time!
Other highlights from the evening included Lee (John's roommate) singing and playing improv songs on the guitar at the subject of our request...and Seth and Brittn Martin performing quite the interesting skit in their quite more than interesting fashion.
What a great couple they are!
